Pattern Review: Cascia
knitting cloth diapers reviewI’m interested in the wrap style wool soaker patterns because they’re less common than the pull-up style. I don’t like the idea of threading little legs into small cuffs, as well. I’d like to try both styles and see what suits me best.
This pattern is a struggle. It gives the pattern in little chunks and then references those chunks in the “knitting instructions” sections. It can be difficult to refer back. What I’ve done is totally rewritten the pattern and followed that, I find it much easier.
I’m just not sure it’s exactly worth the effort. I also have some issues with the random short row included after the stitch markers are removed. It leaves the shape lopsided. I didn’t follow instructions for that short row and I think my outcome was better for it.
Some reviewers are skeptical of its efficacy in preventing leaks.
Modifications:
- German Short Rows.
- Seed stitch instead of garter.
- Lori’s Twisty Bind Off.
- Lifted increases.
- Added 2 stitches for neat selvage edge, sliped knit.
